The rest of the week was wonderful, ups and downs of course, but I like the job. I am pretty busy on the weekdays and Wednesdays are especially difficult because of the classes that I have. I don't know how to control the students who are always talking. I want them to be challenged, and I don't want to punish them for being enthusiastic, but if I don't control them then I am punishing the kids who are being good. The other issue is the other side of the coin. In the classes where no one talks, I need to figure out how to get them active and interested.
Fun Korean Fact: the elevators... Not only do the welcome me every time I walk in, and let me know what when I have arrived, but if you press a wrong floor you can press it again and it will not go to that floor. They are also generally independently run, so if you press the button to get one to come, the other will not automatically come.
Friday was my birthday. I got a cake from the Avalon staff and had a good day with my classes. The foreigner teachers came to my house for white russians (they already know me so well!) and we played some Hoopla. Then on to the bars. We played darts, met some very nice Korean girls and had some good conversations... a few hours later I had met the owner of the bars, and had a few more drinks and decided to go home. It was about 6:30am and very light outside! Today I slept and watched movies. All in all it was a great first week!
