So last night I went out with Korean and Foreign teachers because it is Cam's last week In Korea. We went to a Korean BBQ type place that specializes in clams, mussels etc. It was excellent! I have not eaten a lot of seafood like that so it was a new experience for me. I really love trying new things and enjoying them!! Anyway, we had a lot of soju because it was a celebration, and a few of us went to another bar and then to Karaoke... Hence the rant about umbrellas.
It is always interesting when people from different places get together to compare and contrast their homes' customs. Its hard not to stereotype but its interesting what we decide to be proud of, and what we choose not to mention. I wonder what aspects of others' homes people choose not to mention, and which are glossed over. I am very proud of my Oregon heritage, and to an extent Eugene, and its always great to share stories of home and the things that are so wonderful.... Its also fun to talk about the USA. We are all so different.... Anyway, I had a great discussion about weather with the Canadians and turns out, they use umbrellas.
Today was my last day observing teachers. Monday I am the observed. This weekend we celebrate St. Patrick's day... I am sure I will have a great post tomorrow too!
