I wish that I could import smells. Smells would do the market better justice than my dinky little camera can do. As I walked around the market I was overwhelmed by all that I saw. The market has so many things to tell you about, and happens every 5 days, so I will make a list here, and talk about each thing at some point in the next year.
Update: I found out something new about the markets. Apparently, if one of the benefits of the market is that you can barter. This means that if you pay the normal price, you will automatically get a little something extra for paying the normal price. As a newbie, I did not expect this to be the case for me, but when I bought some Asian pears (one of my favorite fruits since Laura Byerly's mom introduced me) I was surprised to be given one extra from what was on display! MMMMM they are so delicious, HUGE and crunchy... I cut them up before I want to eat them because they are so juicy. I tried to eat one like an apple and ended up with a very sticky arm...
I have also bought oranges and apples at the market. I can't wait to try so many things, but I am waiting until my Korean improves to more than "thank you." A class is supposed to be starting very soon, so I hope to add that to my schedule, or sleeping and working and eating. I really love my weekends because they are filled with so very little, and yet many little triumphs. More of that in a non market blog however.
