I seriously am having trouble believing that it is Friday. This week put a whole new meaning to the term "flying by." I worked and ate and hung out and played a ton of hoopla and now its Friday and I get a weekend?? Well! Excitement... I figured out how to keep my kids in all classes happy and interested. Its called music! I made a bunch of lyrics with some lyrics missing (remember those German buddies?) And my middle schoolers eat it up! It passes the time, gets them engaged, listening, and thinking in English. Plus its a great way to talk about phrases and words that don't come up, words that they may actually have an interest in using! Its great, and I have a blast, although their taste in music/understanding level in English means I am working from Nsync (clean, easy to understand and varying speeds) Beatles (usually a warm up because it is so easy to understand) and then the occasional Daft Punk to challenge them. They don't think Daft Punk is music... but whatever, its a challenge. They LOVE Nsync, and are shocker when I tell them its 10 years old... but yeah, its great.
In addition, the kids that were giving me trouble have a secret soft spot for being busy and having motivation come from guarantees for signatures (if they get 30 they get a 'get out of free detention card' which is highly sought after) or for games... and I scoured the internet for games that are not hangman. Its been fun. I like these new challenges... of course next week I will have to find a balance, because I probably was a little too heavy on the fun, but it was great to try new things and get such a postive response. Also, Last Friday the kids did diary entries, where they can write about whatever. I read them today and brought one home because it is so sweet. She talked about how nice it was to have an enthusiastic teacher who smiles all the times and always asks if the students understand and thinks that words are important. It was really cute, and will motivate me through tough times in the future... Kids are adorable in small 80 minutes doses...
This weekend is Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival!! More excitement to come!

That is so funny about Nsync. God are they really ten years old? :/ I am ancient...my sister and I were watching an old Backstreet Boys video the other day...it's SOOOO 90s!! XD Hilarious.
